This collage brings together animal and plant species identified in Sterlingshire during biological surveys conducted over the past two years. At the bottom of the page, you’ll find an option to print the species cards, along with a kid-friendly nature walk checklist that can be used to record species spotted throughout the neighborhood.
Kids in Sterlingshire are also invited to join our summer-long Nature Explorer Challenge. Using the nature walk checklist, young explorers can see how many of the species identified by the biologist they can also find during their own neighborhood walks. Participants should record their findings, have a parent or guardian sign off on the checklist, and submit it to [email protected] (or drop it in the HOA's mailbox) by July 31 to earn a prize.
It’s a fun way for kids to explore Sterlingshire, learn more about the plants and animals around us, and see how many local species they can discover this summer.
