2026 Firewise Community Event

Sterlingshire residents will get a chance to see “stars” and possibly win a prize during the annual Firewise event planned for May 2.  Residents will be able to visit homes on a “Firewise Map of the Stars” to see what owners have done to make their homes or landscaping more fire-resistant. People can get ideas about the variety of incremental improvement, which can reduce the opportunity for fire to take hold—and spread. For example, they can talk to owners who have installed new fire-resistant vents or gutter guards, or taken out landscaping and replaced it with hardscape. The event will also feature tips about the importance of putting together emergency Go Bags for every member of the family, including pets.

The event flyer is posted below with more details.
